2. Hosting and backend services (Firebase)
We use Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for hosting, database, file storage and authentication. Data (e.g. your email address, passwords, saved espresso shots) is stored on Google servers. Google complies with European data protection standards.
Firebase Authentication uses technically necessary tokens (in your browser's local storage) to maintain the login. This is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) to provide you with a functioning app.
3. Registration and login (Google Auth)
When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password. If you use the "Google" login, we only receive your email address and a unique user ID from Google (Google Ireland Limited) to create your profile.
4. Use of the microphone and audio data
Our app offers an AI function that detects the pump noise of your espresso machine via your device's microphone.
Important: The audio analysis primarily takes place locally on your device. For certain users explicitly enabled by us (whitelist), a short audio excerpt (.wav file) of the extraction can be uploaded to our Firebase Storage server for training and troubleshooting purposes. This only happens with explicit permission. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your browser settings.
5. Weather data (Open-Meteo API)
To perfect your espresso shots, the app stores the current weather data (temperature, humidity, air pressure) with each extraction. For this, we retrieve data from the Open-Meteo API (open-meteo.com). During this retrieval, your IP address is technically transmitted to Open-Meteo. The coordinates for the weather are based on the location you manually entered for your "setup".
6. Your rights
You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data. You also have the right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You can irrevocably delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time in the app under "Profile & Settings".
